Payment Cards
BTA Bank is one of the leading banks to issue and service payment cards in the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1994 the Bank was the first in Kazakhstan to become Principal Member of International Payment System “Visa International”. Since 1998, the Bank has been the member of international payment system “Master Card”. BTA Bank was the first to launch processing centre, installed first ATM in the Republic, and issued Kazakh Payment Card “Alem Card”.
Since 2007 BTA Bank has been issuing chip payment cards which is more reliable card system. The availability of microchip protects client’s card account from unauthorized attempts to access the card by counterfeit cards. Beside reliable protection, the Bank is now able to greatly extend number of services under cards. A new card system also enables to execute all transactions under payment cards on-line, that substantially reduces transaction processing time. Such transactions as crediting salary, card to card transfers, payment to different providers by microchip card takes 30 seconds from the beginning to the end.
Possibilities of BTA Bank payment cards:
- a very useful method of funds saving;
- possibility to replenish of card account in KZT individually or with the help of third persons (relatives, friends);
- round-the-clock access to the card account in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad;
- maintenance of card account in KZT, USD and Euro with opportunity to convert card account currency;
- immediate card to card money transfers via any ATM of BTA Bank at any time of the day;

How to get a payment card
To execute payment card from “BTA Bank” JSC, you can select one of the below methods:
- To visit a Bank’s unit (information on units where you can get the card can be provided by operators of the call centre. It is necessary to provide the following documents:
- TIN;
- Identification card or passport.
- To use e-mail application for issue of payment card which reference is placed in the right upper corner of the given web-page. After receipt of such application, the bank’s manager will contact you, and you can agree upon the visit to bank at any convenient time for you.
- To contact call centre and agree upon the meeting with manager at any convenient time for you.
Note: All rights and liabilities of the card holder are specified in the agreement on issue and procedure of using payment cards of international systems “Master Card”, “Visa” and local payment system “Smart Alem” to which the holder of the card is attached automatically at its registration by filling in and signing the application on payment card issue
